Building Resilient Communities

The Johnson Foundation is committed to developing more resilient communities that are socially, economically and environmentally vibrant and sustainable.  We partner with some of the most dedicated and creative individuals and organizations to develop positive and lasting change at the local, regional and national levels.

Our unique approach brings together the right people on the right topic at the right time to create meaningful results.  We call this approach convening for impact and it’s at the core of everything we do.  We invite you to learn more about the Foundation, our people, history and the work we do to tackle some of the most important challenges of our times.

About the Resilient Communities Initiative

Research conducted by the Public Policy Forum uncovered troubling trends impacting the future of our neighboring local communities.  Across the country, greater-metro areas are reversing similar negative trends.  Four common themes have emerged in each success story:  visionary cross-sector leaders who embrace change, recognition of the sum of the whole being greater than the individual parts, neighboring community governmental collaboration and a sense of urgency to quell negative trends before effects fully manifest.

Our mission is to catalyze collaboration among those with diverse viewpoints to explore new solutions that bring about change on issues that matter.  For us, nothing matters more than the future health and well-being of our local neighboring communities. Our Resilient Communities Briefing Series opens the door and invites all to join us in a new kind of dialogue on our collective future.
