Big Brothers Big Sisters of Racine and Kenosha Counties

The purpose is to raise funds and awareness for a new technology-based program that will serve high-school youth. We will use the reception to kickoff and announce the new program.
Background: Students who sign up for the e-mentor program are matched with adult mentors who guide and encourage them as they take on projects that help prepare them for life beyond high school. The technology-enriched program focuses on college readiness and success for high school students, many of whom will be first-generation college students. Mentors and mentees virtually participate in weekly computer activities, discussing important topics such as professionalism, perseverance, self-advocacy, college financial aid and career choices. They also meet in person at school once a month.
