Laura Gutiérrez

Executive Director
United Community Center in Milwaukee (UCC)

Prior to returning to UCC as Associate Executive Director in 2019, Laura served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at St. Anthony School in Milwaukee, the largest private Catholic K-12 school in the nation. Most recently, she served as Secretary of the Department of Safety and Professional Services in Gov. Scott Walker’s administration.

She is the first Latina woman to lead the UCC, which recently celebrated 51 years of service to the Milwaukee Hispanic community. Laura grew up in Milwaukee; she and her family live in Wind Lake, a Racine County community west of “the I”.

The United Community Center (UCC) provides programs to Hispanics and near South Side residents of all races and ages in education (including the Bruce Guadalupe Community School), cultural arts, recreation, community development and health and human services in an effort to help individuals achieve their potential by focusing on cultural heritage as a means of personal development.
